over the course of the text
Utah State Core Reading: Literature Standard 2
Utah State Core Reading: Literature Standard 10

Today’s  Agenda:

 1.  Individual Reading --
Write a brief response in your composition book (Reader Response)

     Include an answer to this:
What do you think might be a theme in the book you're reading?

2. More about Theme:
Watch for any of these themes as we read

The Storyteller's Daughter:

Are you spotting any others?

The ability to see the truth
is not a function of the eyes
but of the heart.

The Little Prince:  "Ce qui est essentiel est invisible pour les yeux."
"That which is essential is invisible to the eyes."

Another possible theme:

Treachery can hide where it is least
expected, even in the heart of one
you love and trust the most. (pp. 38, 40)

3. Reading from The Storyteller's Daughter

Ms. Dorsey plans to read pages 66-78.
On your own read Chapters 7 and 8 (We'll see how this works for time.)
