Don't forget to bring your composition book to leave in class. 

1.   Listen to  The Rithmatist from page  9:37:45, page 346  (on the end of the rifle) to the end. 
At the beginning of class, we have about 48 minutes left.   

2.  Dots and Boxes Melee!   

3. Time to read your own books.

Challenge -- Who can come up with the best Chalklings?  We will display them in the display case in the hall.

We will begin reading Legend next time.

Don't forget to bring your composition book to leave in class. 

1.   Listen to  The Rithmatist from page 316, 8:45:15 to  8:53:37 page 320 at page break.  
Discussion:  Do you think Exton is guilty? What would make you think he is or is not?  

2.  More Rithmatist  to page  324  -- 9:03:07  

Write an alternate ending to that chapter -- something happens in the inception chamber and/or what happens after he comes out and IS a Rithmatist.  

Label it "Alternate" and with today's date -- 2-16-18
Share with your 12'o clock appointment.

Don't forget to bring your composition book to leave in class. 

 1.  Listen to  The Rithmatist from page 273 -- 7:28:20 through page    .    

2.    In your composition book under "Reading Response Log" which begins on page 31, 
write a 1/3 to 1/2 page response to this prompt:

"[Joel would] almost rather be left with the possibility that he could have been a Rithmatist than find out for certain."   Are there things that you would rather NOT know for sure or things you would just rather not know?   Is not knowing sometimes better?  Why? 
Label it "Knowing?" and add today's date   2-12-18.

Show it to your _6_ o'clock appointment.
