Announcements and Reminders:

Happy April!

Targets for Today:

I can read, think about,  and discuss literature.
I can read, comprehend, and answer questions about the novel Holes

Today’s  Agenda:

2.  Celebrate National Poetry Month

Coming to our Classroom:  Poetry and Chocolate  on Thursday,  April  19
Bring a poem to share.  Bring chocolate.
Ms. Dorsey will provide hot chocolate.
You will have some time in the lab on Friday, April 13 to find poems.

Write a haiku about  reading or books or a particular book:
Haiku
A Haiku is three lines.
The traditional haiku has
5 syllables in the first line,
7 in the second,
and 5 in the third.

Traditional haiku is about nature, but there are haiku poems about other topics. For instance, the "honku" is about driving in traffic.
