Announcements and Reminders:

Turn in your unused hall passes for extra credit by the end of the day on Thursday, March 8.

Targets for Today:

I can read, think about,  and discuss literature.

Today’s  Agenda:

1.  Keep reading  Legend.  Last time we listened to about page 102 -- audiobook to 2:32:51.

If you have finished reading Legend, begin reading Cinder.

2.  In your composition book, under Reading Response Log,  respond to this questions with at least a half page of thoughtful writing:

The Future -- or Predicting the Future
In Legend (and Cinder and Hunger Games and Divergent and many other dystopian novels)  the future is very bleak (cold and miserable, dreary).   Do you think our life will be better or worse in the future (say 500 years in the future).   Why?   Be specific about what will make it better or worse.

3. Time to read your own books -- about 20 minutes.

If time --
Dice questions:

  1. Talk about a least favorite character.
  2. Talk about the place your book is set.
  3. Talk about a minor character you like.
  4. Talk about an adjective that describes your book, or something in your book that begins with the letter A.
  5. Talk about an adjective that describes your book, or something in your book that begins with the letter R.
  6. Talk about an outstanding exciting or funny or sad part of your book.
